“Love and tolerance of others is our code.”

“Love and tolerance of others is our code.” Alcoholics Anonymous (1939) · Chapter 6 · Into Action
Where it comes from

From the Step 10 section of Chapter 6, describing how members carry themselves once the housecleaning steps are done.

Today’s reflection

Not “love and tolerance when people earn it.” Just: our code. The aggravating coworker, the relative who still brings up the old you, the guy who shares too long in the meeting — all covered under the policy. Tolerance isn’t approving of everything; it’s refusing to let other people’s behavior decide your serenity. Pick the hardest person in your day and try the code on them first.

Frequently asked questions

Idaho Recovery: Common Questions

How long does detox take in Idaho?
Medical detox typically lasts 3-10 days depending on the substance. Alcohol detox is usually 5-7 days, opioid detox 5-10 days, and benzodiazepine detox can take 2-8 weeks. Idaho detox centers provide 24/7 medical supervision throughout the process.
Is medical detox dangerous?
Withdrawal from certain substances (alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids) can be medically dangerous without supervision. Idaho medical detox centers provide medications to manage withdrawal symptoms safely, monitoring vital signs, and preventing complications.
What happens after detox in Idaho?
After completing detox, patients typically transition to inpatient or outpatient treatment for ongoing therapy and support. Many Idaho facilities offer seamless transitions to their treatment programs. Following up detox with continued care significantly reduces relapse risk.
What can I bring to a detox center?
Most detox centers allow comfortable clothing, basic toiletries, prescription medications (in original containers), identification, and insurance cards. Facilities typically restrict electronics, outside food, weapons, and any substances. Call your chosen Idaho facility for specific guidelines.
How do I find the right recovery program in Idaho?
Consider the type of treatment needed (detox, inpatient, outpatient, sober living), insurance coverage, location preferences, and specialized programs. Browse directory listings in Idaho and call providers to confirm current availability, services, and payment options.
Do facilities in Idaho accept insurance?
Many treatment centers and detox facilities in Idaho accept major insurance plans including Medicaid, Medicare, Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Sober living homes typically require private pay but some partner with treatment centers for covered clinical components.
